Pink wool and flowers?! I make it for my grandma!

We pass little houses, a lot of garbage, curious dogs and skinny horses, loud music and different people, we are in Vila Dias a little slum 10 minutes from the house where we live.

We’re on our way to the communitycentre a nice and peacefull place for the children off the slum. Every week we have craft workshops with them. And we are ready and prepared for the craft for today. We have wool and fun glitter flowers to make a pens dish.

When we enter the gate, a boy welcomes us inside. We hear music from the hiphop workshop. Some boys are playing soccer on the square. 

And some kids draw on the large tables. “hello teacher” a kid welcomes us with a smile. The girls are excited for the ballet workshop they have today.

Soon when we open the classroom for the workshop, eight cool boys enter the classroom. We wonder how they will react on the pink wool and fun flowers. But after Luciana’s explanation they start with enthusiasm and concentration with their job.

And I can see that they are really creative in making it their own design. Pink wool and fun glitter flowers?…. That’s not a problem! I make one for my grandma!
