And that's what we do!

She’s looking around with a smile on her face. We are at the breakfast table. And she shows the invitation that we gave her yesterday on the streets. She asked if she could come, if she would loose the invitation. And of course we said, that she could come!

We met her together with a friend, they are hanging around a boy who is really enjoying all this attention. For a moment we can break into this giggling meeting, and we invite them for our open house.  First she seems not interested, but later we see her staring to the invitation, and later on she ask to wake her up when we come….
And that’s what we do!

Again she’s turning on the hard floor in her blanket. She does not want to get up. It’s so cold, and she prefers to stay under her blanket. Again we ask her to come with us to the open house. But she does not want to come.
We decide to look for the other girls, but we can’t find them.
So we come back to the sleepy girl, and after a while she’s getting up, and greets us with a smile: good morning!

We are on the square where the street kids are sleeping, on a mattress or just on the floor in a blanket on the stone floor. On every side of the square is a lot of traffic. On the square are trees and benches en bus stops and a lot of people on their way to their jobs or other places.

And we bring her today to our first open house. To take her for one morning out of this place, to enjoy a warm shower, a nice breakfast, en to do some nice activities.

So precious, here smile after the warm shower, her smile at the breakfast table, and when we sing for her. Precious! And that’s what she is, precious! That’s what we tell her this morning, you are special, you are loved, and we believe that God have big plans for her live no matter what other people may tell her. We tell her that she is always welcome! We make a bracelet with her, when she watch this, she can remember this important message when she’s back on the streets

We say goodbye with a big hug, and we hope that she will come again next week. That we can continue talking and investing in her live. And who knows she will bring all her friends next week!
