Prevention is the key word!

Prevention is an important word when it comes to the Super- Woman program and when it comes to the importance of Project Reborn Hope. It’s a key for the development of communities in need. Project Reborn Hope believe that a teenage pregnancy is the fruit of a tree planted in bad soil. It’ s important to give attention and special care to the fruit. However, the effectiveness of this work relies on replanting the tree in proper soil, giving the necessary attention to the root. It this way we will reap healthy fruit, to the glory of God.

In August 2010, after six years of dedication to work with pregnant teenagers, the importance of working preventive became clear.

We chose a community, defined strategies, formed the goals for the target group and headed to action. We went to Vila Dias and Twin Towers to do research with the families there. The way people received our team was really impressive. We would visit peoples homes to interview them, talk with families, meet teenage girls and talk about the project that we were going to start.

During this period we signed two important partnerships. The Baptist Church and the Support Group and Social Services decided to give us full support and also give us a place to have the groups.

The project was taking shape! We ended 2010 with great expectations for 2011.
The fourteenth of March 2011 we stared the Super Women - Prevention Program in the Vila Days and Twin Towers with a big party.

And now we have much work ahead. The Prevention Program, through teenage girls groups, aims to raise awareness and discuss issues like self-esteem, sexuality, relationships, etc.. The focus is on building a relationship with God, which is the source of true transformation.
